All visitors travelling to Australia require an Australian visa, unless they hold an Australian or New Zealand passport. The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) System allows an Australian ETA tourist visa to be issued electronically, this removes the need for a stamp in the holder's passport.
Visas are usually issued within 24 hours providing all requirements are met.
An Australian ETA permits the holder to enter Australia for up to 90 days on each trip within the vaild period of the visa. The ETA visa permits entry for 12 months from the date of issue, unless you have less then 12 months left on your passport. If this is the case your ETA will expire with your passport.
We recommend that your passport be valid for at least 6 months.
You must hold a passport from an ETA eligible country to apply for an ETA tourist visa(view full list). Applicants must be outside Australia when the application is submitted.
Under the terms of this visa you are not permited to undertake work whilst in Australia.(Obligations)
The charge of the Australian ETA tourist visa is £18
